Review: 2018 Nissan Rogue

Power and Fuel Economy

The 2018 Rogue’s base engine is a 2.5-liter inline-4 mated to an Xtronic continuously variable automatic transmission, making 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. It comes available with all-wheel drive and can tow just over 1,100 pounds. All models have Hill Start Assist, Brake Assist, Intelligent Trace Control, Intelligent Engine Braking, and Active Ride Control.

According to EPA estimates, front-wheel drive models get up to 26 MPG city and 33 MPG highway, while AWD variants get 25 MPG city and 32 MPG highway.

Comfort and Convenience

The 2018 Rogue seats five passengers comfortably, with almost 106 cubic feet of passenger volume. Additionally, it has 39.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row and 70 cubes of space when you fold the rear seats.

Standard seating includes a 6-way driver’s seat, cloth trim, and EX FLEX Seating System with a split-folding, sliding, and reclining second row with pass-through. The base model also features the Divide-N-Hide Cargo System, Advanced Drive-Assist Display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 7-inch touchscreen, Siri Eyes Free, a RearView Monitor, and Bluetooth technology.

Upper trims add an 8-way power driver’s seat with 2-way lumbar support, leather-appointed seating, Quick Comfort heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, and HomeLink universal transceiver. Other premium features include an auto-dimming rearview mirror, mood lighting, Intelligent Cruise Control, Remote Engine Start with Intelligent Climate Control, and driver’s seat and mirror memory. The 2018 Rogue is also available with a Power Panoramic Moonroof and a Motion Activated Liftgate.

Safety and Technology

The 2018 Rogue was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety after it earned top scores in all test categories. Additionally, it comes with some of the latest in available safety and driver assistance technology.

Standard safety features include a Blind Spot Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Nissan Advanced Air Bag System, Vehicle Dynamic Control, and Tire Pressure Monitoring System with individual tire pressure display and Easy-Fill Tire Alert.
